FAQ
Common questions
WHAT IS RPA?
Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is the use of software that automates work processes and tasks. The robot mimics a human and logs on a PC or virtual machine with its own username and password. The robot can use the same interface that a human would have done (by clicking buttons and reading/writing in text fields). It can also transfer information between systems using API or direct connections to databases.
WHEN SHOULD I USE RPA?
RPA can basically do anything a human can do on a PC (however much faster). The robot uses rules for what it should do and when. Most work processes or tasks have (or should have) clear rules in a standardized way so that the work is carried out consistently and efficiently. Therefore, RPA fits more or less the vast majority of tasks as long as the process is carried out relatively often (preferably daily, weekly or monthly).
WHY USE RPA?
The robot takes care of the rule-based, repetitive and often the boring tasks. This way your employees have more time to use on more value adding work. Also as the robot does not make any human errors, you also get increased quality in your work processes. The robot works 24/7 every day of the year, and often much faster than a human. This means you also get increased production throughput and shorter lead times. Therefore you save time, money and get increased motivation among your employees.
